What is an AI product main image generator?
MerchShot creates product images for the primary display position of an ecommerce listing from your existing product photos. Your photos define the product; marketplace, ratio and optional style instructions guide background and composition. Can I use existing product photos?
Upload 1–4 JPG, PNG or WebP photos of the same product, up to 15 MB each. The first is the primary reference; other angles and details provide additional product information. Start with clear subjects, accurate colors and readable markings.
How many main images will I get?
The default is 2 candidates. In Studio you can choose 1, 2 or 4. Each candidate is generated independently for the same main-image goal so you can compare and choose; this is not a listing image set with separate purposes. Actual successful deliveries depend on the task results.
Which marketplaces and image ratios are supported?
Choose SHEIN, Temu or Generic, independently of a portrait 3:4 or square 1:1 ratio. JPEG exports are 1340 × 1785 for 3:4 and 1600 × 1600 for 1:1. Check current marketplace, category and product requirements before publishing. Generation does not guarantee platform approval.
Do I need to write a prompt?
No. Leave the optional main image style blank to let the tool plan background and composition for your product and selected marketplace. You can also describe preferences in everyday language, such as a simple background, softer light or emphasis on material texture.
Will AI change my product?
Generation uses your photos as the product reference and prioritizes color, shape, material, packaging and markings, but AI can still make mistakes. Review logos, text, structure and key details in every result. You decide whether each successful image is suitable to publish; product fidelity and marketplace compliance are not guaranteed.
How much does main image generation cost?
Estimated credits equal the current configured cost per image multiplied by your chosen candidate count and are shown before generation. Credits are reserved first and settled for technically successful deliveries; technical failures release the corresponding reservation. Can I use generated main images commercially?
You need rights to your input photos, trademarks and brand materials, and must check final accuracy and destination-platform requirements.
